The Department of Mechanical Engineering is an academic unit with extensive experience belonging to the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences of the Universidad de La Frontera. Our mission is to contribute to global society through the comprehensive training of professionals and postgraduates in the field of Mechanical Engineering, the generation of cutting-edge scientific technological knowledge and its transfer, for regional and national development. We are committed to strengthening the link with the environment by carrying out multidisciplinary activities with a socially responsible perspective.

To be an Academic Department recognized regionally and nationally for its disciplinary contribution to scientific-technological development and the quality of undergraduate and graduate programs, contributing to the economic and social development of the country, favorably impacting the quality of life of its community.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Universidad de La Frontera has developed its Strategic Development Plan 2019-2023. This document has the Mission, Vision and Scorecard, which have been validated by its academics and are aligned with the institutional strategic axes for the next 5 years, defining relevant indicators for monitoring and evaluation.
